FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALTHY PROGESTERONE CREAM

Question: I am a post-menopausal healthy 60-year old woman. I have been using 1/4 tsp. progesterone cream once a day per the instructions in Dr. Lee's book. 21 days on, 7 days off. Do the four pumps a day correspond to the 1/4 tsp I have been using? It seems like it's much more. And do I still do it 21 days on, 7 days off? Also, it says to rub into arms, face, and chest. I've been alternating between breasts and inner thighs. Please advise

Answer Yes it is the same amount. With a teaspoon you cannot measure mg correctly. Each full press of the pump dispenses 6 mg. so 2 in the morning and 2 at night will dispense 24 mg. If you check Dr Lee's book " What your doctor may not tell you about menopause", page 318:

Question: How do I know how much progesterone to use?

AnswerThe goal is to restore normal physiologic progesterone levels for at least two to three weeks a month. An ovulating woman makes about 20 to 24 milligrams a day.” So you can use it 3 weeks a month... some women feel better using it everyday.

One bottle will last 65 days if you use it everyday and 90 days if you use it 21 days. So 3 bottles will last you 9 months: It is better to apply the cream in the inner arms, neck, chest and face. The reason is that is better absorbed and you want to avoid fat tissue. Progesterone is fat soluble so will be partially absorbed into the fat tissue and not into the blood stream.

Question: I have irregular menstruation cycles and believe that because of this, I am having a hard time getting pregnant. I am 27 years old and weigh 260 pounds. I am currently two months late however I am not pregnant. Should I start taking the cream or do I have to wait for my ministration cycle to arrive and then start on day 12?

AnswerYou can start now and stop when your menstruation will start. Then count 14 days and start again until the next menstruation start. Use 2 full presses of the pump in the morning and 2 at night

Question: I had a complete hysterectomy in 1990 and have been on HRT (Estrace, Premarin and recently the Vivelle dot) ever since. I have all the awful symptoms listed. I have not had satisfactory relief from talking with my regular physician. I am interested in the progesterone cream, but wonder if it will help since I have had the complete hysterectomy. Should I take the saliva test before ordering the cream? Your advice would be helpful.

Thank you, R.H., S.L.C.

AnswerHello Rochelle If you had complete hysterectomy, you don't produce progesterone at all. What you can do is to start with Healthy Progesterone cream and after 2 to 3 months you can take a saliva test to monitor the results and to adjust the dose if necessary.

Question: I have just started to use Healthy Progesterone Cream. I am not clear about when to use it and how long I should use it for. I am postmenopausal. Should I base its use on a 28-day cycle? Can it be used for a number of years? How will I know when to stop using it? Also I note that it is on the list for use by men. What are the benefits for men in using progesterone? By the way, I have been using it for 8 days and there is already a noticeable drop in the number of hot flushes I am having per day and they are not as severe and do not last as long as before. Barbara.

AnswerHello Barbara You can use it 3 weeks and stop 1 week. Some women when stop using the cream that week have more menopause symptoms. They use it everyday and fell better. Your body is not producing progesterone anymore, so you should use this cream for the rest of your life. It will be great for your body. Men also have Estrogen Dominance and need Progesterone. They need less 12 mg a day.

Question: I am considering buying some of your progesterone cream in the pump and was wondering if you had any info on breastfeeding. From what I've read, the question is more of the other ingredients rather than the progesterone, itself. I realize you cannot make a medical recommendation but is there anything in your product, to your knowledge, that is contraindicated with breastfeeding?

Thank you for your time. Karen H., NYC

AnswerIt should not interfere with breastfeeding. The amount you use us very small. If you use any moisturizing cream, shampoo, face cream, body lotion, soap etc you will have to ask yourself the same question.

Question: I am currently pregnant but am interested in using progesterone cream after the birth of this baby - due at the end of June. How soon after birth do you start using the cream, is it possible to start before the return of periods? If periods haven’t resumed does it hasten their return or delay it? Does progesterone cream affect fertility, if so, in what way? Also is it possible for me to order progesterone cream from your company, do you do international orders (i.e. to New Zealand).

H T., New Zealand

AnswerIt will be a good idea to wait until you are done with breastfeeding. Then you can take a saliva test to measure levels of progesterone and estradiol. If the levels of progesterone are low you can start with progesterone cream. Progesterone helps implantation and pregnancy.

Question: I was recommended Emerita Pro-Gest Cream. Is your Healthy Progesterone Cream as effective and the same thing?

Jenny, New Orleans, LA

Answer: Hello Jenny Our cream is a much better choice. Has a similar amount of USP Progesterone per oz, but comes in a pump and dispenses the same amount all the time. Also, the content is not in contact with oxygen and need much less preservatives. Another problem with that cream is that they use Methylparaben, Propylparaben in their formula. Unfortunately studies are showing that these petrochemicals can act as a xenoestrogens and could produce breast cancer. Our cream doesn’t have these ingredients. It is better to avoid them, especially if you are going to use a cream everyday. www.health-report.co.uk/parabens.htm

Question: I am using your Progesterone cream, 4.4oz bottle with pump. I wondered how long it takes to notice any actual changes for the better? How long before it is truly effective?

Thanks, C.C., London, UK

AnswerIt can take 4 to 8 weeks to start having results. Sometimes it takes much less. The effect on the bone loss can take much more time to see results: 6 months to a year.
